NEW YORK—Jarrod Bernstein has joined MWW’s New York office as senior vice president, corporate affairs. Bernstein joins MWW following senior level posts within the Obama administration, United States Department of Homeland Security and the Office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In his new role, he will develop corporate affairs strategy and stakeholder relations programs.

Bernstein is a former Obama administration counter terrorism and community outreach official. He has served as the associate director of the White House office of public engagement and as director of Jewish outreach. Previously, he was principal deputy assistant secretary and acting assistant secretary for intergovernmental affairs for United States Department of Homeland Security, coordinating the Departments’ outreach to Mayors and Governors across the country.

He also worked for the office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as the deputy commissioner of community affairs, responsible for community crisis management and outreach around mayoral programs, and as the chief spokesman with the New York City Office of Emergency Management.

NEW YORK—MWW has hired Evan Smith as senior vice president, corporate communications in its New York office. Prior to joining MWW, Smith headed investor relations for inVentiv Health and held senior positions at Chandler Chicco Companies and FTI Consulting. He also founded CPR Financial Communications, a healthcare and technology investor relations and corporate communication advisory firm that was acquired by Weber Shandwick.
