LONDON — Online used car marketplace Motorway has appointed Hope&Glory as its first consumer communications agency after a competitive pitch.

The agency will handle all consumer communications across press office and brand campaigns, for the business, which was valued at more than $1 billion in a new funding round of $190 million in November 2021. Founded in 2017, Motorway connects motorists with a network of more than 4,000 car dealers and matches each seller with the dealer who makes the highest offer for their car.

Hope&Glory was selected by Motorway’s first chief communications officer Victoria Biggs, who joined from Trainline in January this year. She said: “Hope&Glory has a great ability to combine brilliant basics with creative flair and, having worked with them in previous lives, I’m looking forward to rekindling the working relationship.

"With an agency in place, I’m now on the hunt for top talent to join the in-house team as we build out the communications function to support Motorway’s next stage of growth.”

Hope&Glory chief creative officer and co-founder James Gordon-MacIntosh added: “Motorway is at its heart a great brand with a phenomenal proposition: get more money when you sell your car and achieve that with next to no effort. Our challenge will be to bring that to life in a compelling way that drives earned media. It’s one we relish taking on.”
