LONDON—London Stock Exchange Group has appointed Steve John as chief corporate affairs and marketing officer. John will joins the LSEG executive committee, reporting to LSEG chief executive David Schwimmer effective 1 April.
In his new role, John will lead LSEG’s marketing, communications, government relations & regulatory strategy and sustainability teams. According to Schwimmer, “His experience in strategic stakeholder management for globally iconic brands will be invaluable as we continue to grow our reputation as the leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider."
Most recently he was the chief communications and brand officer at HSBC Group. Prior to HSBC he was the chief communications officer of McKinsey & Company and earlier he held roles in corporate affairs and government relations at Bupa, PepsiCo, and DLA Piper. He has been featured regularly on PRovoke Media’s Influence 100 list of the most influential corporate communications professionals in the world.
