CHICAGO—Health insurance company Humana has named Golin its public relations agency of record as it seeks to transform its stakeholder relationships.

“At Humana, we’re changing our relationship with consumers,” says Tom Noland, senior vice president of corporate communications. “Traditionally, consumers have viewed health insurance as claims-based and transactional. At Humana, we strive for a relationship with consumers that is health-based and transformational, one where we are a partner that helps our customers achieve their best health.”

The Humana account will be led out of Golin’s Chicago headquarters. The scope of the partnership includes media relations, social media, executive positioning, line-of-business support, philanthropy and sponsorships.
