PHILADELPHIA — Slice Communications has acquired GillespieHall, a public relations agency based in Wilmington, Delaware. Slice CEO Cassandra Bailey, who founded the firm in 2008, will serve as CEO of the integrated agency, while GH founding partner Bridget Paverd assumes a consultant position. GH’s most recent partner Clara Mattucci will assume the position of Slice’s chief operating officer. With the acquisition of GH, Slice expands the firm’s capabilities in public relations, crisis communications, media training, executive communications and creative design. The new integrated agency will serve more than 40 clients, and with 100% staff retention, employs 25.

WALTHAM, MA — Danforth Advisors has acquired Argot Partners, a strategic communications consultancy focused exclusively on the life sciences industry. With the acquisition, Danforth now provides a full scope of investor relations and corporate communications services to help clients articulate their science and its value to key stakeholders. Founders Andrea F. Rabney and David M.F. Pitts will continue to lead Argot.

SANTA ANA, CA — Powerhouse Communications has rebranded in a move that includes changing its name to Powerhouse+Co. The firm has also revamped its logo, website and agency persona. CEO Kristin Daher said the move to modernize the brand reflects its evolution to a stronger, more cohesive agency in the eight years since she started it.
