WASHINGTON — Spectrum Science has acquired The Seismic Collaborative, an independent health and life science agency that specializes in supporting early-stage health tech and biotech companies. The Seismic acquisition establishes the Emerging Innovation Group within Spectrum, a new offering that expands the agency’s capabilities to deliver at all points of a company and product lifecycle. This new venture brings seasoned leaders with extensive experience and current business in emerging innovation and health technology to the Spectrum team, including Seismic CEO, Lisa Rodriguez, who will serve as the president of the Emerging Innovation Group within Spectrum and will play a lead role within the company’s existing health tech practice.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Crosby Marketing Communications has created a new $100,000 scholarship program for students of Anne Arundel Community College to create greater opportunities for underrepresented students from diverse backgrounds to pursue degrees and future careers in the advertising and public relations field. Each year, the Crosby Marketing Scholars Program will offer four students a two-year scholarship providing financial support to pursue studies related to marketing, public relations, graphic design, multimedia/video production and web design. Students will also receive ongoing guidance from AACC professors and be paired with a Crosby staff member who will provide mentoring and career advice. At the end of a student’s two-year participation in the program, they will be offered a summer internship at Crosby to gain added experience.

NEW YORK — The Diversity Action Alliance, a coalition of PR and communications leaders, will host its second annual Diversity Gala presented by Omnicom Public Relations Group on June 15 at Gotham Hall in New York. The event will honor the activists, advocates and accomplices driving change and championing diversity, equity and inclusion across the public relations and communications industry. The event will feature keynote speakers Delano Massey, CNN race and equality beat leader; Nicole Cardoza, award-winning serial social entrepreneur, investor, and author; and Chandran Nair, founder of The Global Institute for Tomorrow. Notable BIPOC-owned agencies and distinguished communicators of color will be honored in partnership with Hold the PRess, Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), the Indigenous Peoples Public Relations Association (IPPRA), National Black Public Relations Society (NBPRS) and Voices for AAPI.

HARTFORD, CT — Cybersecurity public relations firm Outbloom PR and Allegro Solutions, a cybersecurity content marketing firm, have struck a partnership that will deliver coordinated public relations and content services in the cybersecurity industry. The two companies also announced a Driving Diversity Program, focused on helping stealth, seed, and Series A cybersecurity and technology startups who support diversity at the founder and senior leadership team levels.
