LIGHTWATER, UK — Code Red Security, the PR network specializing in cyber security, is expanding into Korea under a new partnership with Chayun Public Relations. The Korean agency works with a range of multinational companies in an array of disciplines from IT and aerospace to law and travel destinations. The goal of the Code Red Security network providing cyber security companies PR services at the local level.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Crosswind Media and Public Relations has acquired Carmichael Communications & Consulting, a Texas-based agency that serves the energy, oil and gas industries. Carmichael represents associations, non-government organizations and principals in energy exploration and development. Katherine Carmichael will stay on as part of the deal, serving as a VP in Crosswind’s Austin office.

NEW YORK — In an effort to promote diversity and inclusion, the Public Relations Society of America’s New York chapter plans to develop and offer certification workshops aimed at eradicating unconscious bias and promoting multiculturalism across the communications industry. At its recent annual meeting, the group also agreed to create an advisory board whose members reflect the diversity of communities; launch a diversity and inclusion committee; provide education on the issue; and develop a transparency and accountability plan that would track progress.

NEW YORK — The PRConsultants Group, a US network of independent PR and marketing consultants, has added four new members.  They are: Steven Alschuler, president of Alschuler Communications in Pittsburgh; Liz Hersh, president of Hersh PR & Marketing in Brecksville, Ohio; Mimi Rasor, president of Rasor Marketing Communications in Cincinnati; and Todd Smith, owner and CEO of Dean|Smith Agency in Nashville, Tennessee.

LONDON — Beattie (pictured) will be creating a digital marketing team in Manchester to provide clients search, social, content, strategy and design services. Priorities include hiring PPC and SEO specialists, as well as an Umbraco developer. Only Digital, Beattie’s digital marketing boutique, currently employs 20 people. Beattie, which serves health, retail and travel clients, has 12 offices in the UK and Ireland.
