NEW YORK — RF|Binder has acquired financial services and capital markets PR firm Peaks Strategies. The RFB|Peaks Strategies team will serve as a specialized unit that is part of RF|Binder’s corporate and financial practice. All of Peaks Strategies staff will join RF|Binder. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

WASHINGTON — JPA Health has acquired True North Solutions, Inc., a consulting firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. True North specializes in commercial, clinical, and medical affairs, with expertise in digital acceleration and customized predictive analytics, as well as solutions powered by AI and natural language processing. This acquisition, the first for JPA Health, will further expand JPA's strategic offerings providing end-to-end integrated medical affairs, clinical development, commercial strategy, creative marketing, public relations and patient advocacy solutions to clients.

CHICAGO — Motion is acquiring Cincinnati-based strategic communications agency Rick Miller Communications (RMC), effective January 1, 2024. With locations now spanning Cincinnati, Chicago and Nashville, Motion has established a more robust presence in the Midwest and nationwide. RMC is an integrated marketing firm founded in 2009 by Rick Miller after more than three decades working with regional and global communications firms in Cincinnati, Chicago and San Francisco. It provides public relations and content services, issues management, executive counseling and digital analytics to health care and consumer clients such as Myriad Genetics, Bethesda Inc./bi3, Lindner Center of HOPE and the Golden Lamb.

DALLAS — Sunwest Communications has acquired Spaeth Communications, bringing together two Dallas-based public relations firms. Merrie Spaeth will join the Sunwest team as founder, Spaeth Training. Using the patented methodology she developed, Spaeth will lead Sunwest’s portfolio of communications training services, including spokesperson media training, presentation skills, witness preparation, leadership training and building a corporate culture.

NEW YORK — BerlinRosen is launching a new recruitment agency for communications and marketing professionals, Brightmode Talent. Brightmode Talent will be led by Tammy Phan, a communications and talent veteran who has led recruitment at BerlinRosen since 2019. The agency offers a comprehensive suite of talent services to help companies and organizations find the best talent in communications and marketing. Brightmode Talent focuses on recruitment for roles at all levels, from junior account staff to senior executives — including service offerings such as candidate search, recruitment and placement, talent and organizational consulting, and equity-based hiring support.

NASHVILLE — Ray Day has been elected PRSA’s 2024 board chair. Day (pictured) brings to PRSA an extensive background in communications and business and experience working with multinational organizations. In his role as vice chair of Stagwell, Day leads the integration, innovation and growth of Stagwell's more than 70 global agencies. He will succeed Michelle Egan, Alyeska Pipeline Service CCO.

NASHVILLE — Former Red Bull comms executive Nicole Swickle has launched Honest Interactions, a creative communications and management agency. Swickle started the firm after an 11-year communications career at companies like Red Bull, ESPN, and PUMA. She has extensive experience in brand storytelling, talent management, and PR strategy.
