In partnership with the Ukraine Communication Support Network (UCSN), PRovoke Media's new Ukraine Special Edition draws together authoritative international voices to explore the ongoing war through a specific PR and communications lens.

The Special Edition marks the first initiative of its kind in PRovoke Media's 23-year history.  An unfortunate milestone perhaps, but one that is keenly required as Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine moves into its fourth month.

The Special Edition will feature eight articles that together examine (i) the impact of the war on the PR industry, (ii) the ramifications for PR activity and campaigns, and (iii) the all-important human interest elements of the war. The pieces, which can be found here, will roll out over the next week, starting with an impassioned call to action from UCSN co-founders Nataliya Popovych and David Gallagher.

The UCSN was established by the PRCA and ICCO in March 2022 to coordinate volunteer communications activity in support of the people of Ukraine. It recently announced its international expansion, as part of its mission to organise and deliver pro-bono support for Ukrainians impacted by the war, and has drawn support from numerous organisations across the globe — including the CIPR, APACD, AMEC, IPRA, EACD and PRCAI.

The Ukraine Special Edition also builds on PRovoke Media's extensive coverage of the ongoing conflict, which included a special session at our recent EMEA Summit. We have also examined many of the key issues affecting agencies and brands, including reputational risks, agency pullouts, and the disinformation war that paved the way for the invasion.

All of content featured in the Special Edition aims to help professional communicators better understand how they can help bring an end to the war, support Ukrainians in Ukraine and support the Ukrainian diaspora/refugees.
