WASHINGTON, D.C., April 5—In another tweaking of Interpublic’s public relations operations, issued advertising specialist Murphy Pintak Gautier Hudome has become part of Golin/Harris International. It had previously been a part of Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
According to Golin chief executive Rich Jernstedt, “We felt they would add another dimension to our growing Washington operations, and would be a good fit for our corporate culture.” Golin did not have an issues advertising capability in Washington, while Weber Shandwick Worldwide has advertising units in its Powell Tate subsidiary and as part of the former BSMG Worldwide.
MPGH has worked for political candidates including Jeb Bush, Tommy Thompson, Christie Whitman and John McCain, but the majority of its business is now in the corporate arena. It joins a family of Golin companies in Washington that includes the former Weber McGinn (merged into Golin/Harris two years ago), lobbying firm Barbour Griffith & Rogers and The MWW Group.
