MEXICO CITY — JeffreyGroup has expanded its leadership with the promotion of Mauricio Gutiérrez to chief strategy officer for Latin America.

In the newly created role, Gutiérrez will be responsible for identifying market needs, developing product offerings and management models, leading strategic partnerships, and deepening customer relationships. He also will be a member of JeffreyGroup’s executive leadership team.

Gutiérrez joined JeffreyGroup as a group director in 2013 and has served as managing director of the firm’s 90-person Mexico operation for the last six years. Under his leadership, JeffreyGroup has tripled its Mexico business.

“This appointment recognizes Mauricio’s leadership and contribution to the growth of our business in Mexico and across our Latin America footprint, which includes more than 300 full-time professionals based out of six offices in four countries. As CSO, Mauricio will contribute his strategic vision and clear understanding of the keys to scaling our management models for the firm’s continual evolution,” said JeffreyGroup CEO Brian Burlingame, to whom Gutiérrez reports.

Gutiérrez’s appointment coincides with promotion of Elisenda Casellas to chief operating officer in Mexico. The former senior director of corporate and public affairs will continue to report to Gutiérrez, assisting in the management of daily operations and providing high level client support.
