NEW YORK — Ogilvy PR’s Jennifer Risi is taking on additional duties as chief communications officer, replacing Robyn Massey who had been in the role for slightly more than a year.

When Massey stepped into the newly-created CCO role last year, it involved overseeing the WPP firm's global reputation and marketing strategy on a full-time basis. Risi, however, will continue to spend 75% of her time in her existing client-facing role as head of media relations and leading the Ogilvy Media Influence network. About 25% of Risi’s time will be spent leading Ogilvy PR's global communications and serving as a “brand architect.”

Risi will report directly to global CEO Stuart Smith and will work closely with leaders such as Ogilvy & Mather’s global CMO Lauren Crampsie and Ogilvy North America’s president of content/social Mark Himmelsbach.

Smith said it’s a “natural extension” to apply Risi’s media and influencer expertise, not only to clients, but also to the agency itself. Meanwhile, Massey, who joined Ogilvy PR after several years with Ketchum, has left the agency.

Risi will continue to lead global strategic media relations and will work across the Ogilvy, North America group – establishing new working models, creating IP and promoting "earned media" focused strategy for clients. Risi joined Ogilvy PR in 2011 working in areas like nation branding, CEO positioning and corporate reputation as well as promoting gender and diversity issues.
