NEW YORK — Joydeep Dey, most recently Marina Maher Communications’ chief strategy officer, has joined Publicis Group as global head of strategy for Citibank.

“I am excited to be a part of the Publicis ‘Power of One’ model, personally motivated by their ability to deliver winning solutions using the power of the Groupe — driven by a common purpose, a powerful spirit and a relentless focus on clients,” Dey told PRovoke Media.

Dey, who will work exclusively on the Citibank account, started with Publicis on Monday, following three years as MMC’s chief strategy officer.

His work in that role, which made him one of PRovoke Media’s 2018 Americas Innovator 25, included the deployment of an integrated model that included new offerings, and drove the firm’s progress. MMC was named PRovoke Media’s 2018 North American PR Agency of the Year.

“I carry with me stellar experiences from MMC, my teams, and Marina herself. MMC is truly an innovative next-gen communications agency,” he said.

Dey’s responsibilities at MMC are now being handled by Amy Inzanti and Mike Rosich, two former group senior VPs upped to executive director in the wake of Dey’s departure.

“Joydeep built the strategy and analytics practice at MMC and fostered strong leaders such as Amy Inzanti, who has taken over business strategy and analytics and Mike Rosich, who has taken over creative strategy and storytelling. We are appreciative of his contributions and wish him all the best in his new position," Maher said.

Dey is the latest in a series of senior execs who have left MMC over the last 18 months, including chief integration officer Diana Littman who departed to join MSL as its US CEO, and members of its healthcare group’s leadership team. The firm has responded by making a number of senior appointments, including chief innovation officer Rema Vasan.
