SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc. has appointed Kontoor Brands’ Mame Annan-Brown as CCO, a newly created position aimed at bolstering the company’s reputation as a purpose-driven brand.

Annan-Brown will oversee communications, the Gap Foundation, and global employee engagement and volunteerism program, while driving Gap narrative across public affairs, investor Relations and ESG. Her role will also include leading the company’s civic engagements in its hometown, San Francisco.  

Annan-Brown brings 25 years of communications and public affairs experience to the role, having worked in the apparel industry, global finance, international development and public policy. She most recently served as executive VP of global communications & public affairs at Kontoor Brands and president of the Kontoor Brands Foundation. Previously, she was global head of external relations at International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) and held senior roles at J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank

She will report to president and CEO Richard Dickson.
