ZURICH — Brunswick and RLM Finsbury are among the communications firms that have been called into the billion-dollar merger of Lafarge and Holcim to create a building materials giant.

On the Lafarge side, the external PR advisors are Brunswick and Havas. Meanwhile, Holcim has called in RLM Finsbury and Image Sept.

The deal is being positioned as the largest cross-border merger in Europe that brings together “equals to create LafargeHolcim, the most advanced group in the building materials industry,” according to a company statement.

The combined group is positioned to be in 90 countries around the world, in both developed and high growth markets. LafargeHolcim would be listed on the SIX in Zurich and Euronext Paris. It would continue to be based in Switzerland.
