LONDON — Technology giant Lenovo is reviewing its EMEA agency roster, particularly its PR hub that oversees the region, PRovoke Media has learned.

The $47 billion company – which recently introduced the ThinkPad X1 Fold, the first foldable PC – currently works with a wide range of communications and marketing agencies in different markets across EMEA, including 3 Monkeys Zeno in the UK and H+K Strategies and Canela in Spain. It has also worked with Archetype as its PR hub for the region for the past 10 years.

Elsewhere, Zeno is Lenovo’s agency of record in the US, and last year BCW picked up the firm’s China account from BlueFocus. WE Communications leads Lenovo’s PR work in Asia-Pacific, Singapore and Hong Kong, while in India, The PRactice holds the account.

Lenovo released a competitive RFI for agencies interested in running its EMEA communications hub via the Ariba procurement platform in the summer, but has confirmed it will now not be taking this forward to the RFP stage.

Charlotte West, the firm's executive director of global corporate communications, told PRovoke Media: "From time to time we do RFIs for agency benchmarking purposes but no plans to run a RFP at an EMEA level at the moment. Our strategy is to work with best of breed agencies in the markets where we work and support with hub agencies mapped to our geographical business regions as appropriate."

Lenovo appointed Torod Neptune – one of PRovoke Media’s Influence 100 and a recipient of an Individual Achievement SABRE award this year – as worldwide group vice president and chief communications officer in 2017.
