LONDON — Lidl GB has appointed Coolr as its retained social agency after a competitive pitch, with a remit covering all social media content and influencers across the supermarket’s channels.

Incumbent agency We Are Social, which had worked with Lidl for three years, did not take part in the pitch process, led by AAR. As Lidl GB’s social agency of record, Coolr will work with other agency partners including Accenture Song, OMD, The Romans and CSM Live.

Lidl marketing director Claire Farrant said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Coolr on the next phase of our social journey and were very impressed by them throughout the pitch process. They demonstrated passion for our brand, creativity and compelling social first initiatives. We're looking forward to bringing many of those ideas to life.”

Coolr CEO Adam Clyne, who founded the agency in 2017, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Lidl. Not only is it one of the biggest and most relevant brands in the UK today, it’s also a brand with a huge appetite for creativity and innovation.”

The social media agency recently moved to new premises in London, including its own production studio, as part of expansion plans that have seen Coolr’s team grow to almost 70 people and the launch of a US office. Other recent client wins include Samsung UK.
