NEW YORK — LinkedIn has moved its social media business to Edelman specialty agency Assembly, the agency has confirmed.
Assembly assumed the duties following LinkedIn’s split from Golin in December. Golin had been the platform’s global social media agency for roughly one and a half years.
LinkedIn’s partnership with Golin dates to July 2021 , when the networking platform hired the agency to handle its global social media. LinkedIn’s previous agencies include EP+Co, which was named the platform’s social media agency of record in 2018. Mischief handles LinkedIn's consumer PR in the UK.
Launched in 2003, LinkedIn has been on a growth trajectory following Microsoft's purchase of the platform for $26 billion in 2016. The 2022 fiscal year saw LinkedIn’s revenue grow to $13.8 billion, up from $10.2 billion in 2021 — its first $10 billion year.
Business continues to be on the upswing. In Q1 FY 2023, LinkedIn reported revenue up 17% year-over-year and a record 875 million users.
