NEW YORK, July 31—John Lovallo has rejoined Ogilvy Public Relations as senior vice president and director of investor relations in its corporate headquarters in New York. Lovallo will be responsible for running the U.S. IR practice, assisting companies with IPOs, ADRs, mergers and acquisitions, and other communication issues.

Lovallo held the same position at Ogilvy in 1999, when he left to become executive vice president of corporate and investor relations  for Weber Shandwick Worldwide.

Ogilvy PR chairman and CEO Bob Seltzer says Lovallo’s return will accelerate the growth of IR Group.  “In many ways, John’s return marks a reunion of sorts for some of our current clients that John was partly or wholly responsible for bringing to the firm.”

Lovallo’s previous experience includes positions at Morgen-Walke Associates, Bankers Trust Company and Greenwich Portfolio Management.

In a separate announcement, Ogilvy has named Jeffrey Leopold as vice president of external relations.

Leopold, who reports directly to chairman & CEO Bob Seltzer, will be responsible for building Ogilvy PR’s reputation and market presence, and driving the firm’s visibility and new business efforts. He will also create and support agency capabilities materials, develop new business opportunities and manage visibility opportunities for the agency at large.

Before joining Ogilvy, Leopold was a managing director at Hill & Knowlton, where he worked on consumer accounts including Cendant, UBS and Little League.
