TOKYO — Dentsu PR has named Masahiro Makiguchi (pictured) as its new president and CEO, replacing Kazunori Azeyanagi, who becomes senior corporate advisor.

Azeyanagi relinquishes the position after four years as Dentsu PR president. He will retain his role as president of the Public Relations Society of Japan.

After joining parent company Dentsu Inc in 1990, Makiguchi has headed various divisions within the company, most recently serving as MD of the corporate communications division.

Makiguchi was appointed to the board of directors at Dentsu PR as an MD in January 2020. He holds a degree in law from the University of Tokyo.

Makiguchi's appointment is effective immediately after formal approval was granted at today’s shareholders’ meeting and subsequent board of directors’ meeting.
