LONDON — Milk & Honey PR is growing its sustainability practice, with the addition of three new clients in a month after appointing Fiona Gildea from Red Consultancy as its first UK partner to lead on strategy and purpose.

The agency’s new international clients are Desolenator, a technology company that has created the world’s first solar powered, sustainable water purification system; Luker Chocolate, a Colombian ethical luxury chocolate producer, and Leapfrog, an impact investing firm that supports emerging consumers.

On the back of the wins and more planned growth in the areas of purpose and sustainability, Milk & Honey has reopened its intern programme and is recruiting for additional hires before the end of this year.

Gildea joined the agency – which itself became a B-Corp last year – in September. She told PRovoke Media: “There are not enough conversations going on in the PR industry about the big issues. Aside from ESG regulation, people aren’t making the connection yet between business and climate change and societal change and why we need to be playing a role.”

She added: “It’s easy to get wrapped up in more accessible aspects of purpose, without really looking at the bigger picture, but because Milk & Honey is about nurturing reputations, we have to take businesses on this journey with us. If businesses are not sustainable, they aren’t going to survive, and that’s not being talked about enough in the industry.

"We have to use this past year as an opportunity to really tackle these big issues. We just cannot go back to business as usual.”
