NEW YORK — Mission North has promoted East Coast leader Nicole Messier to president in a recent round of leadership restructuring aimed at furthering the agency’s growth.

In the newly created role, Messier is responsible for all aspects of promoting Mission North’s growth including overseeing brand, new business development, product and strategy. She reports to co-CEO Tyler Perry.

Messier, a four-year veteran of Mission North, most recently oversaw the agency’s East Coast operations as an executive VP and general manager.

Other key changes include the promotion of Shannon Hutto to chief client officer. San Francisco-based Hutto has been with Mission North for more than 15 years, the last four of which she spent as a partner and general manager.

Human resources executive VP Gillian Davis has been named chief people officer.

Meantime, senior VP Meghan Gardner has been promoted to executive VP and West Coast general manager, as which she will focus on maximizing agency profitability, efficiency and employee engagement.  After eight years with the firm, Grace Emery has been named Mission North’s East Coast general manager with responsibilities including staff development and account management.

Melissa Musiker has been promoted to executive VP and head of strategy.

“We have an ambitious vision to elevate the role of communications as a strategic business function, drive meaningful change in the diversity of our industry, and expand the impact of our work,” Perry said. “This new leadership structure will lead Mission North through our next evolution of growth with the passion, purpose and just the right amount of weird required to achieve our vision.”
