LONDON — Mixology, the communications agency started by three former Racepoint Global executives in April, is expanding its senior leadership team with the appointment of Chris Cowan as associate director.

Cowan joins from technology specialist Harvard, where he spent more than six years in global and EMEA-coordination and UK lead roles for high-growth and established brands in cybersecurity, healthcare, commerce, IoT and software development. Cowan previously held roles at Weber Shandwick and Lewis.

Mixology was one of the first new agencies to open for business during the Covid-19 lockdown, in April, led by former Racepoint Europe managing director Andrew Laxton as CEO, SVP Jenna Keighley as managing director, and finance manager Chenal Frederick as COO.

The agency is working with purpose-driven brands in the agritech, wellness and smart living sectors, and also recently hired Katie Hawkins as director of brand management and partnerships.

Keighley said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Chris to our growing team of Mixologists. Not only does he come with an excellent track record in the PR profession but he really impressed us with his entrepreneurial drive and desire to work with purpose-driven brands. We are looking forward to working together to help companies press the reset button on their communications strategy and to start telling a different story in 2020 and beyond.”

Cowan added: “It’s undeniable that this year continues to show the immensity of the communications challenges facing so many brands and organisations. Being open, honest and authentic is crucial to having a meaningful conversation and at the same time make a positive impact on wider society. I’m delighted to be joining the rapidly growing team.”
