NEW YORK — Christine Elliott, formerly Mastercard's worldwide comms leader, has joined Moody’s as the financial services company’s first head of global communications and branding.

In the newly created managing director role, Elliott is responsible for the full range of PR initiatives — corporate and internal comms, media outreach, digital and social media content. She also is charged with ensuring Moody’s branding delivers clear and consistent messages to internal and external stakeholders.

Elliott will oversee Moody’s comms and marketing teams in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, with the overarching goal of building awareness of Moody’s products and services around the world.

“Clear, consistent communication is vital to Moody’s role as a global integrated risk assessment firm,” said Moody’s chief strategy officer David Platt. “Christine’s deep experience will be a strong asset as we advance our global communication vision and strategy to serve the needs of our customers, employees and other stakeholders.”

Elliott spent nearly three years leading Mastercard’s corporate, internal, external and digital communications as executive VP, worldwide communications before stepping down from the role in September 2019. She was replaced by former GE CCO Jennifer Erickson.

Previously, Elliott held CCO roles with S&P Global and American Express Global Business Travel.
