SANTA CLARA — Motorola Mobility's senior director of global corporate communication William Moss has left the company to join Intel, where he takes on a senior role overseeing the company's engagement around issues, crisis and policy.

Moss departs Motorola six years after joining the company in Beijing, where he led Asia-Pacific communications. In early 2013 he returned to his native California with Motorola, to oversee corporate reputation, issues management, executive engagement and internal communication, reporting to Motorola Mobility CMO Adrienne Hayes.

In late 2014, meanwhile, Motorola Mobility was acquired by Lenovo from Google. Moss' responsibilites at Moto will not be directly replaced, said Lenovo global corporate communications and public affairs director Brion Tingler.

"Will made many lasting contributions to Motorola and we wish him all the best in his new role at our longtime partner," said Tingler. "His responsibilities for corporate communications are being absorbed by the Motorola Mobility PR and Lenovo corporate communications teams."

At Intel, Moss reports to Laura Anderson, who was promoted to director of corporate relations last year. His arrival at Intel comes after the company named Terry Anderson as its first VP/GM of global communications. Anderson effectively succeeded Paul Bergevin, who left for IBM last year, with a role that encompasses global PR, analyst and employee communications.

Prior to joining Motorola, Moss spent almost six years with Burson-Marsteller China, leading the firm's corporate practice. He had previously worked in Singapore, where he moved from the US in 1995.
