LONDON — MSL UK has appointed Kam Phullar as its new head of strategy, as it steps up its focus on data and insight-led client work.

Phullar joins from digital marketing specialist Feed Agency, where he was a global lead strategist. He previously held senior strategy roles at Iris Worldwide, Kindred Agency, and ICF Next, where he worked with global clients including Adidas, Uber, and eBay.

He has also worked in Whitehall as a senior communications strategist for the Department for Exiting the EU, HM Revenue & Customs, and the Central Office of Information (COI).

Phullar replaces Dominic Payling, who left at the end of last year after 12 years with the agency. He will sit on the board and reports to MSL UK managing director Jo Grierson, who joined the Publicis Groupe agency in January 2020.

Grierson told PRovoke Media: “Kam is a rare find. It’s been tough trying to replace Dom, but Kam comes from an integrated background and he is passionate about data and insight-led thinking.

Kam is a massive advocate for our Belief Stack platform, and as well as all the ways you would expect a head of strategy to work, he’s using it to uncover insights that allow us to continue to do brave, progressive creative work for clients not just within MSL but alongside the other Publicis Groupe agencies we work closely with. He’s a brilliant fit and we’re super excited – he feels like part of the family already.”

Phullar added: “MSL UK is an exciting agency that really helps empower clients to build Belief and create lasting change. My appointment will help underpin the strategic brand consultancy that is needed right now as we navigate new and fresh ways of communicating.”
