LONDON — Rapid grocery delivery firm Getir has appointed MSL UK as its retained creative strategic communications partner for the UK and Europe after a competitive pitch.

The Turkish technology start-up, founded in 2015, achieved “unicorn” status earlier this year after raising more than $550m in a funding round that values it at more than $7.5bn – more than takeaway courier Deliveroo and retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Morrisons.

After Getir started operating in London in January, MSL UK will oversee all strategic communications for the brand’s launch across the UK and rapid expansion into Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Getir UK general manager Turancan Salur said: “We have ambitious plans at Getir, and following the success of our first global launch in London we are working hard to turn the capital and other UK and European cities purple this year.

"We knew we wanted to work with an extremely well networked agency, and who better than MSL. They not only have the local insights we’re after, but have the strategic flair to help us roll out our plans in the best way possible.”
