NEW YORK — MWWPR has hired Heather Wilson as EVP and MD to lead the firm’s crisis and issues management practice.

Prior to joining MWWPR, Wilson served as MD and head of the San Francisco office for Abernathy MacGregor, where she led the firm's Bay Area operations. Wilson led crisis communications around the crash landing of US Air flight 1549 — 'The Miracle on the Hudson' — and previously spent eight years at Weber Shandwick.

“Heather Wilson is one of the leading crisis communications and corporate reputation professionals in our industry,” said MWWPR founder and CEO Mike Kempner. “In addition, Heather brings deep capabilities and understanding of crisis communications around the growing threat of cybersecurity attacks."

"Over the past few years, we’ve seen specific examples of how damaging these attacks can be on corporate reputation," added Kempner. "As this continues to emerge as a leading challenge, our clients will be well served by Heather’s expertise and experience in managing and mitigating these types of crises."
