NEW YORK and LONDON—The 2020 North American and EMEA region SABRE Awards competitions are now open and accepting entries. The early deadline for both competitions is December 16, 2019, with entries accepted until midnight on January 24, 2020, with payment of an additional late fee.
The SABRE competition is the world’s largest competition for public relations campaigns, attracting close to 6,000 entries from around the world—with separate competitions in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America and South Asia in addition to the North American and EMEA competitions. The top 40 campaigns from around the world were recently honored with our prestigious Global SABRE Awards, presented at the PRovoke19 conference in Washington, DC.
SABRE stands for Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation, and Engagement, and the competition has a 30 year heritage in the US, where it originated. The EMEA competition is now 15 years old.
“In a hyper-competitive landscape, public relations firms are competing not only with each other but also with ad agencies, digital specialists, and a whole host of new competitors,” says Paul Holmes, who founded the competition. “These awards not only help PR firms showcase their creativity to clients; they also focus on what makes PR special: elegant solutions to complex problems, creativity across multiple channels and platforms; and most of all, business results.
“The awards are also increasingly seen by corporate communications departments as a way of showing senior management that the work they are doing stands out when benchmarked against the best in the business.”
