LONDON--Ogilvy PR London has hired former Edelman executive Lee Goodger to a senior social media role at the firm.

As associate director, Goodger will head social media best practices across the agency's account teams, reporting to head of digital and content Michael Darragh.

“As brands increase their knowledge, understanding and application of social media, it is imperative they are given the best advice and counsel," said Goodger. "We are no longer in a period of testing, but are required to deliver strategies with impact and ROI."

Goodger's 15-year career includes stints at Zip Television and 1000heads. He joined Edelman's Spook Media acquisition in 2009.

"Lee will be a fantastic asset to the team with his proven track record of challenging the norm, forcing bigger thinking and delivering best practice campaigns that win awards," said Darragh.

Earlier this month, the Holmes Report revealed that Ogilvy EMEA social media head Kaitlyn Wilkins had departed to become global social media director at Burberry.
