SAN FRANCISCO — PagerDuty's Carolyn Guss is joining Salesforce as SVP of corporate communications, reporting into chief communications officer Brad Burns.

Guss steps into the role at Salesforce formerly held by Gina Sheibley, who left Salesforce to become CCO at Qualtrics in January. Guss will be responsible for corporate and product PR efforts in the US and will be joining the team in July.

Since 2019, Guss has been VP of corporate marketing at cloud computing company PagerDuty, where she built the team. Before that, she was a partner at Method Communications for seven years.

"We’re so fortunate to have Carolyn join us to lead our PR through our next phase of growth," Burns said in a statement. "She has a great track record of success, innovation, building and leading high-performing teams, and providing valuable counsel to executives at every level. We can’t wait to welcome her to Salesforce."

Salesforce employs more than 56K people around the world and is the largest employer in San Francisco. Like many tech companies, Salesforce recently announced it would give  employees permanent flexibility, calling "the 9-5 workday dead." Most recently Salesforce enlisted Omnicom firms FleishmanHillard and Vox Global following an agency review.
