LONDON — Amanda Groty has left her role as PayPal's senior director and EMEA communications head after just 10 months.

Groty joined PayPal last year, following a decade with H+K Strategies. Her departure comes amid a reshuffle of PayPal's senior global communications team, in the wake of Christina Smedley's departure for Facebook last year.

Groty was recruited by Smedley, who was VP of global brand and communications before joining Facebook to run communications for its Messenger unit. PayPal's global communications function now reports to Franz Paasche, VP of corporate affairs and communications.

Groty declined to comment on her exit when reached by the Holmes Report, while PayPal had not responded to request for comment when this story went live. It is understood that Groty also holds an advisory role at Proof, the marketing analytics consultancy headed by Mark Stouse.

During her tenure at H+K, Groty led global technology and strategy, and also took on a six-year stint leading EMEA client relations for WPP's LG-One team.
