LONDON--Bell Pottinger Public Affairs chairman Peter Bingle is ending his decade-long relationship with the firm, to launch a new consultancy.

Chime Communications chairman Lord Bell commented: “Under Peter’s stewardship BPPA has become a successful and vibrant consultancy with a superb list of clients. Over the last eleven years there has never been a dull moment. I wish Peter every success in the next stage of his career. I hope that we will have the opportunity of working together in the future.”

Added Bingle: “I have had the most fantastic time over the last eleven years. BPPA has become a major force in the public affairs market and we have developed a reputation for being best in class as well as the best fun to work with.

"All good things must come to an end, however, and now is the right time for me to pursue what I have wanted to do for some time. I have therefore decided to give up the best job in politics. During my time at BPPA there is one person who has always supported me. Tim Bell has been a great boss and a wonderful friend.”

Bell noted that Bell Pottinger's public affairs business "continues to be a very important part of our group." Bingle's departure comes as Bell readies an MBO of Bell Pottinger brands from Chime.
