MIAMI—Steve Lombardo, currently chief communications and marketing officer at Koch Industries, and veteran pollster Frank Luntz will be among the public affairs experts sharing their knowledge and wisdom at the third Global Public Relations Summit, which takes place in Miami from October 27-30.

Lombardo, who was previously chair of Burson-Marsteller’s public affairs and crisis practice and global chief executive officer for StrategyOne, the research and consulting subsidiary of Edelman, now leads all communications efforts for Koch, a $115 billion privately held company as well known for its political activism as it is for its diverse holdings in chemicals and biofuels, forest products and energy.

He will participate—alongside Marie T. van Luling of H&R Block—in a panel exploring new research from public affairs firm Global Strategy Group on the practice of corporations taking positions on these sensitive issues. The discussion will examine how such political activism makes the American public feel, and most importantly the implications for corporate reputation and the bottom line.

Luntz is founder and president of Luntz Global, and over the past decade has written, supervised, and conducted more than 2,000 surveys, focus groups, ad tests, and dial sessions in more than 24 countries and four continents. He has counseled Fortune 100 companies and their CEOs including General Motors, Federal Express, Disney, American Express, AT&T, Microsoft, Lowe’s and Pfizer.

He will feature in conversation with Miles Nadal, founder, chairman and CEO of MDC Partners, in a session that will focus on lessons from "Words that Work: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear," Luntz’s New York Times bestseller.
