LONDON — Zeno Group’s London agency, 3 Monkeys Zeno, has appointed Jo Patterson as its new managing director, as her predecessor Christine Jewell departs after 15 years with the firm.

Patterson (pictured) joins 3 Monkeys Zeno on October 19 from Porter Novelli, where she has been managing director in London since 2018. She had been at Porter Novelli for 11 years, joining in 2009 as consumer practice lead and then becoming head of strategic services in 2014, overseeing design, content, analytics, media, planning, and creative. Before that, she was a board director at The Red Consultancy for eight years.

Jewell joined 3 Monkeys in 2005, 18 months after the agency’s formation by Angie Moxham, who left at the end of 2017 after the agency was acquired by Zeno Group in 2016. Moxham is now running The Fourth Angel. Jewell said: “I have loved leading and building 3 Monkeys and 3 Monkeys Zeno. I’ve learned a lot, grafted hard, and achieved a great deal with a brilliant team, and now I look forward to doing something completely different.”

Zeno Group CEO Barby Siegel said: “I want to thank Christine for her inspiring and steadfast leadership of 3 Monkeys Zeno. It has been a great joy to partner with CJ over the last four years, adding new dimension to the UK and helping to fuel our global reach. The impact CJ has had in Europe and beyond will be felt for many years to come.

“As we wish CJ well with her next adventure, we welcome Jo into our Zeno family. Under Jo’s leadership, and together with our talented team in London, 3 Monkeys Zeno embarks on its next chapter, continuing to flourish as Zeno’s European hub and a key driver of our overall global ambitions.”

Patterson added: “I'm thrilled to be joining 3 Monkeys Zeno, and Zeno more broadly. It's a rare breed of agency, combining a phenomenal creative reputation and catalogue of game changing work, with the ambition and energy of a global network. This was an irresistible opportunity I could not refuse. I'm looking forward to joining a powerhouse leadership team well-positioned to continue breaking new ground and delivering work that matters to clients every day.”

Porter Novelli is currently recruiting for a London MD. Patterson was co-MD until this year with Nicole Yost, who joined BCW in May as managing director of healthcare business transformation.

London chair Fenella Grey said: “Jo has played a large part in the success of the London global hub office and we thank her for her passion and commitment and wish her all the best in her new role.”

In London, 3 Monkeys Zeno now has 80 people, and has worked with clients including Budweiser Brewing Group, Wray & Nephew, Starbucks, Microsoft, Pladis, Lenovo, Motorola, LinkedIn, and Castrol.
