LONDON — Two partners at Portland Communications are moving on to senior in-house roles, with Chris Hogwood joining Land Securities (Landsec), the UK’s largest property development firm, as managing director of corporate affairs and Nick Hargrave joining Deliveroo as director of public affairs.

Portland confirmed it would be replacing both roles. Managing director Sam Ingelby – who was promoted into the role this summer – said: “Chris and Nick have been fantastic colleagues and we’re delighted to see them go on to such big jobs. We’ve always believed that one of the reasons to work at Portland is not just the experience you get but where it can take you. They’re both stars and Deliveroo and Landsec are lucky to have them.”

Hogwood (pictured, left) currently advises clients in a range of sectors, including property, and leads Portland Local, a specialist practice that focuses on city, regional and local politics in the UK. He joins Landsec in February as part of a management restructure at the firm, whose £11.8 billion property portfolio includes London’s Piccadilly.

Before joining Portland in 2017, Hogwood worked at Weber Shandwick for more than five years, including as head of property and planning, and deputy head of public affairs.

Hogwood will report to Landsec CEO Mark Allan, who said he was “delighted” to welcome him to the company: “With a clear framework in place, this leadership team brings together exceptional individuals with deep, relevant skills and experience that will help deliver our strategic priorities.”

Hargrave (pictured, right), who is currently Portland’s head of strategy, planning, analytics, research and creative, joins Deliveroo in the New Year. A Deliveroo spokesperson said he “brings great government and public affairs experience to the business and we look forward to welcoming him to the team.”

Before joining Portland in 2017, Hargrave had served as a special advisor to the UK government, including working for former prime ministers David Cameron and Theresa May and as the Conservative Party’s head of research, including during its general election win in 2015.
