NEW YORK—Omnicom, which owns numerous PR firms including FleishmanHillard, Ketchum and Porter Novelli, today reported organic PR revenue growth of 3.1% for the first quarter of 2015.
On a reported basis, PR earnings grew 1.7% to $330.9m, accounting for 9.5% of Omnicom's overall revenue. The group's PR firms outperformed its CRM and speciality comms units (each +2.6%), but lagged its sister advertising agencies (+7.7%).
The group's first quarter PR growth came after an 8.5% uptick in Q4 2014, which helped Omnicom's PR revenues grow 4.1% in 2014.
Overall, the group reported that net income for Q1 2015 increased $3.6m or 1.8%, to $209.1m. Worldwide revenue was up 5.1% on an organic basis, but slipped 0.9% to $3.47 billion due to the impact of foreign exchange rates.
