LONDON — Qualcomm is in the final round of a competitive review to determine its lead European communications agency, PRovoke Media has learned.

The digital and wireless technology giant has been working with Hotwire in the UK and across Europe for the past six years.

Hotwire won the European brief in 2014 as Qualcomm consolidated its agencies across several markets.

Qualcomm senior marketing director Richard Tinkler told PRovoke Media: “We have been working successfully with Hotwire for over six years and as our needs have been changing from a comms perspective we initiated the review. We are now at the final round stage and a decision will be made once that is concluded in the next few weeks.”

It is thought that Qualcomm is down to the final two agencies in the pitch process.

In July this year, Qualcomm consolidated its marcomms across India with Edelman, after previous agency Avian WE landed global PR duties for rival Intel. The US account was handed to Allison+Partners at the end of last year.
