LONDON — Ranieri Agency has been appointed by domestic appliance company De’Longhi to handle UK consumer PR for its portfolio of brands, including Kenwood and Braun Household.

The agency won the UK account, which had been held by Golin since 2017, after a four-way competitive pitch. Ranieri will oversee communications strategy for the full roster of brands within De’Longhi’s UK subsidiary, including influencer work.

Founded by the De'Longhi family in 1902, the De'Longhi Group is one of the world's leading small domestic appliances, including coffee machines, kitchen appliances, air conditioning and home care. In 2001, the company added the Kenwood brand to its portfolio, followed by Braun Household in 2012. De'Longhi products are now than 120 markets and it has seen demand for high-end small domestic appliances rise significantly in lockdown as consumers invest in their home environments.

De'Longhi’s UK and Ireland marketing director, Alex Pickering, said: “Ranieri Agency shared our vision for the growth potential for our categories and impressed us from each stage of the pitch process, showing a deep understanding of how to disrupt and stand out in a sea of sameness.”

Consumer technology, B2B technology and gaming communications specialist Ranieri Agency has a team of 55 across its London headquarters and offices in Paris, Munich and Dusseldorf. Its other clients include Bosch, Canon, Miele, audio electronics company Harmon Kardon and its JBL and AKG subsidiaries, and KidZania.

The agency’s UK managing partner Ranj George said: “We love clients who share our philosophy and ideology when it comes to genuine insights-led strategic and creative work, and this integrated brief had all of those in spades. Covid has exacerbated what we already knew clients want to see from their agency partners on top of the hygiene factors; namely personal attention, passion and care. Winning three amazing household brands is testament to the great work and eclectic team at Ranieri.”
