SAN FRANCISCO – AxiCom, WPP’s global technology specialist communications agency, has been chosen by RSA, one of the world’s largest cybersecurity and risk management organizations, as its North America public relations agency of record after a competitive review.

RSA, which is headquartered in the US, works with 12,000 organizations around the world and manages and authenticates 25 million identities within enterprises. It returned to independent ownership in 2020 after it was bought from Dell, which had acquired the company in 2016, by private equity firm Symphony Technology Group. The firm was recently recognized by KuppingerCole Analysts AG as a leader on identify governance for the fourth consecutive year.

AxiCom’s cybersecurity practice will work with RSA to provide communications strategy, campaign execution, content creation and earned media relations. RSA previously worked with Shift Communications in North America.

The firm's customers include the majority of Fortune 500 enterprises, as well as government, financial services, healthcare, energy and technology companies, including those in highly-regulated markets handling sensitive information.

AxiCom’s appointment comes as RSA and its customers are having to get ahead of a rapidly-changing environment, from the increased risk of a growing number of people working from home while handling sensitive information, to geopolitics and the sophistication of the technology being used by bad actors.

RSA chief marketing officer Laura Marx said: “We had the chance to work with AxiCom on an assignment as part of the selection process, and we were thrilled with the results. The team demonstrated a keen understanding of the space we operate in, combined with a data-driven approach to driving the media results that matter. This, paired with their strong media relationships, will set us up to drive business impact in 2023.”

At AxiCom, Americas president Lisa Sullivan added: “RSA is globally recognized brand and an early trailblazer in cybersecurity innovation: exactly the kind of work AxiCom is built for. By flexing the investments we’ve made in data and analytics, we’re able to activate a storytelling engine that will allow RSA to elevate its voice in a hugely dynamic market.”

The win comes after AxiCom unveiled its new brand identity and on the heels of its appointment as Sage’s global hub agency.
