LONDON--Simone Drewry is departing Kaper just six months after joining the firm, for a senior role at Ogilvy PR in London.

Drewry was named managing director of Kaper at the start of this year, relocating from Australia where she ran Mango, the highly-rated consumer PR agency owned by DDB.

She joins Ogilvy PR as managing partner of the firm's consumer brand marketing practice, reporting to UK MD Michael Frohlich.

"Her experience and reputation will be an invaluable addition to our senior team, while her knowledge of agency management and industry leadership will help Ogilvy PR move forward in maintaining our aggressive growth," said Frohlich.

"She has the right tools to maximise the Ogilvy & Mather network, learnt during her time operating within the DDB group.”

As MD of Mango, Drewry was the youngest woman to sit on the board of DDB Australia, during a period when Mango won Agency of the Year honours in the country three times. She was also the founder and deputy chair of Australian industry body the Public Relations Council and has judged both the Cannes Lions and Clio awards.

“To be truly impactful it is important that communications professionals can have valuable and strategic conversations at the CMO level and not just be an afterthought," said Drewry.

"Ogilvy PR is delivering truly integrated campaigns at this C-suite level, and has the talent and the network to take this even further. The opportunity to join in Michael’s vision was one I couldn’t pass up.”
