CHICAGO — Sonesta International Hotels, the eighth largest hotel operator in the US, has awarded Current Global its PR business.

Sonesta named Current Global its PR agency of record following a competitive review. The company previously has worked with agencies including Current Global’s IPG sister agency Weber Shandwick.

Current Global will be handling strategic communications and influencer marketing for Sonesta, with a focus on the US. Sonesta brands include Royal Sonesta, Sonesta Hotels & Resorts, Sonesta Select, Sonesta ES Suites and Sonesta Simply Suites.

The number of Sonesta hotels in the US has grown from 58 to 200 over the last three years. The company operates a total of 1,200 properties in eight countries.
