Experts in healthcare and technology communications, representing the World Health Organization, pharmaceutical company Pfizer, and research giant Ipsos, will be among the high-level speakers at PRovoke Media's Global Public Relations Summit, which will take place from October 19-22.

The virtual event—our ninth global PR summit—was recently expanded from three to four days to accommodate additional partners, and will address the critical communications issues that have dominated the headlines and the public relations industry agenda during a turbulent 2020.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Tim Nguyen is the unit head for high impact events in the global infectious hazard preparedness department of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme. His team manages WHO’s information network for epidemics, a platform to manage disease infodemics during emergencies. He will be speaking on a panel addressing ways to fight misinformation during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Sally Susman is executive vice president and chief corporate affairs officer at pharmaceutical company Pfizer, where she is also vice chair of The Pfizer Foundation and co-chair of Pfizer’s Political Action Committee. In those roles, she leads engagement with all of Pfizer’s external stakeholders overseeing global policy, communications, government relations, investor relations and corporate responsibility.
  • Trent Ross is chief research officer, corporate reputation, at polling specialist Ipsos, where his focus is on issues such as measuring reputation performance against business return; identifying key drivers that have the most impact on creating reputational value; assisting clients in aligning actions to tackle reputational issues; and measuring and responding to the impact of brand or corporate crises.
  • Dr. Nirit Weiss-Blatt (Ph.D.) is a visiting research fellow at USC Annenberg who has worked as a tech journalist and in tech PR in Israel. She and Ross will be discussing the communications challenges and the public policy implications of the ongoing “techlash.”

The first day of the Summit will be devoted to our Entrepreneurs’ Forum, designed for agency founders and CEOs. The next three days will focus on critical communications issues, with our Global SABRE Awards, Global Agencies of the Year, and Global Agency of the Decade awards to be presented on the afternoon of Wednesday 21.
