NEW YORK — M Booth Health has tapped Weber Shandwick’s Stacey Bernstein to lead the firm as its next CEO, succeeding Tim Bird who is becoming chairman.

As CEO, Bernstein will oversee the firm with the overarching goal of helping clients navigate today’s complex commercial, policy, and advocacy environments. Most recently Weber Shandwick’s digital healthcare leader, Bernstein is also charged with innovating ways to drive the agency’s successes.

“We were looking for a leader to lead with humanity and kindness and put people first, but someone who also has a real vision for what the marketplace is today and what our clients need to stay ahead,” Dale Bornstein, CEO M Booth said. “In Stacey I think we found that rare combination.”

Bernstein joins M Booth Health from Weber Shandwick, where she was executive VP, global director of digital health and general manager of the agency’s Boston office. During her nearly 12 years with Weber Shandwick, Bernstein launched the firm’s digital health practice, which went on to create initiatives for leading pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, health systems and nonprofits.

Bird, meantime, is moving into a chairman’s role after leading the healthcare agency for 15 years. He will remain chairman during a transition period, after which he will assume a consulting role.

The change in leadership comes two-plus years after M Booth parent Next Fifteen acquired the US division of Health Unlimited, which was rebranded M Booth Health. The agency operates as a separate company reporting to Bornstein.

The move also comes on the heels of M Booth Health’s strongest performing year marked by double-digit growth, according to the firm.

“I want to thank Tim for the leadership and vision that brought his agency under the M Booth umbrella,” Bornstein said. “Since we joined forces in 2019, M Booth Health has won multi-million-dollar blue chip clients and advised preeminent leaders in public health. As experts in catalyzing conversations and connections that lead to better health for people everywhere, the firm is at an exciting inflection point, and we believe Stacey is a uniquely talented leader who will catapult us forward.”
