WATERTOWN, May 1—Technology public relations specialist Sterling Hager, which opened its first satellite office in San Francisco last September, has added a second new office—this one in Washington, D.C.

According to agency president Jim Joyal, “The D.C. region has emerged to join Boston, Silicon Valley and Research Triangle Park in North Carolina as a leading center for technology.” In August of last year, Time magazine reported the area is home to around 5,000 firms involved in high tech, generating over $100 billion in annual revenue.

“As the result of our resounding success with the launch of the San Francisco office in September 2000, we took a look at other potential markets,” says Joyal. “Our analysis indicated that the metropolitan area surrounding Washington, D.C. is the next center of technology.”
Agency veteran Tony Greene, who joined Sterling Hager in 1992, will head the new office.
