MUMBAI — Sujit Patil is departing Godrej to become SVP and head of corporate communication at mining group Vedanta.

Patil leaves after four years as VP and head of corporate communications at Godrej. At Vedanta he joins a function that has been led by president of group communications and sustainability Roma Balwani since 2014.

Patil take on communications leadership for the company, leading all aspects of internal and external communication including branding, media management, social media, public relations and advocacy.

Prior to joining Godrej in 2013, Patil spent nine years at Tata Chemicals, along with three years at Laursen and Toubro. During his tenure at Godrej, the firm won the Diamond SABRE Award for excellence in reputation management in both South Asia and Asia- Pacific.
