LONDON — Sunny Side Up has been appointed by Ridgeview, one of England’s oldest sparkling wine brands, to handle PR.

The agency’s brief covers product PR, brand-building, corporate communications and helping to tell Ridgeview’s sustainability story.

It is the latest addition to Sunny Side Up’s premium drinks portfolio, which currently includes wine brands Villa Maria and Cune Rioja. The agency’s drinks experience also includes work with Diageo GB, Johnnie Walker Global, Pernod Ricard UK, Beam, Steinlager, Curious Brew and Chapel Down.

Based in Sussex, Ridgeview has been making sparkling wines for more than 25 years. It was founded by Mike Roberts, one of the pioneers of the English wine market, and is now led by his daughter Tamara Roberts.

Ridgeview head of communications Mardi Roberts said: “This felt like an easy decision. The work Sunny Side Up have previously done within the English sparkling wine sector was superb and we’re delighted they can now bring their insight and originality to our brand.

“We have exciting growth ambitions for Ridgeview. As one of the original pioneering families of English sparkling wine, we believe our wines to be up there among the very best in England, which obviously now means it is among the best in the world. What we need to do now is really build our brand and consumer awareness across all platforms and channels.”

Sunny Side Up MD Zoe Ward-Waring added: “We love the English sparkling wine sector and have a strong and successful heritage in it; to get to work on a brand with such a strong product at its heart and such a clear sense of purpose for its future is a dream.”
