LONDON — Salterbaxter has hired Chime director of sustainability Helen Rushton as its new head of sustainability transformation.

Rushton joins the Publicis agency, which specialises in creative work in the area of sustainability, at board level reporting to Salterbaxter global MD Kathleen Enright.

Before joining Chime two years ago as director of sustainability, Rushton held the same role at sustainability consultancy Corporate Citizenship.

She was previously head of social responsibility at National Lottery operators Camelot Group.

At Salterbaxter, she will draw on her 27 years of experience to drive understanding of the interplay between sustainability and business strategy, and keep clients on the front-foot around the evolution of and legislation around sustainable business.

Rushton said: ‘All too often, consultancy work is technically competent but uninspiring, or alternatively it looks amazing but is not robust.

‘The business world needs more of the type of strategies that Salterbaxter delivers and I am so excited to be a part of this and support their expansion.’

Enright said of Rushton’s appointment: ‘Helen’s in-depth knowledge will further our mission to help businesses on the path to a just transition.’
