MELBOURNE - Telum Media has promoted Reuben Aitchison as its new head of insights with a remit encompassing PR industry news, content development and events across Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, following the firm's recent expansion there.
"The creation of our insights function has come from merging our PR news and events teams, reflecting an evolution in how we interact with our markets, how they consume information, and what they are seeking from us," Aitchison told PRovoke Media exclusively.
"We've found that many of the great speakers at our events would provide us with a range of insights and content that we want to share to our clients and our wider audience," he added.
Aitchison added that Telum is developing new ways to connect with its audience in the PR and communications sector, expanding the scope of its content, and expanding the range of its events.
"In the fast changing market it’s all about delivering timely insights and helping connect media and PR professionals across our markets," he said.
He added that Telum's new events include a range of workshops, such as its upcoming AI workshop in Singapore, as well as topical in-person events and webinars, such as its recent webinar with Hawker Britten delving into the implications of the recent Australian elections.
"We are working on an exciting pipeline over the next few months in Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney with more planned for Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and beyond,” he said.
Aitchison has been with Telum Media for just over five years now, initially joining as its Melbourne manager in 2020 before being promoted to its PR news manager, ANZ, in 2022. He then took on the role of head of PR team and news in 2023. In the role, he led Telum's PR department and teams across the SEA, EA and ANZ regions to grow and develop the firm's PR news service, and to build its connections with agency and in-house communicators and industry bodies across APAC.
Now, Aitchison leads a team of 12, focusing on PR industry news, content development and events while delivering insights and helping connect media and PR professionals across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
This comes shortly after Manesh Karnani, associate director, SEA revenue head at Telum Media, stepped down from the role after 10 years in the company in January.
He has now joined Spaceworx as its vice president of platform sales, he told PRovoke Media at the time. In his new role, Karnani will be in charge of developing new business and sales strategies to create a B2B real estate marketplace.
