HONG KONG — Teneo Holdings has acquired Asian corporate and financial consultancy Ryan Communication, significantly expanding its operations in the region.

The deal will see Ryan's 35 staffers across Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore merge with Teneo's existing operations in those markets. Founded by former Bloomberg reporter Damien Ryan (pictured) in Hong Kong in 2010, Ryan Communication has grown rapidly in recent years.

Ryan and executive director Lauren Chung will continue in their leadership roles, reporting to Charles Watson, chairman of Teneo International.

"Our acquisition of Ryan Communication is transformational for Teneo’s business in Asia as we continue to grow our operations around the world. This transaction ensures that we can continue to provide our clients with an ever-growing range of capabilities in this strategically important region," said Declan Kelly, chairman and CEO of Teneo. "We have great respect for what Damien and team have done in building such a successful business in three critical markets and we are proud to welcome our new colleagues to Teneo."

Teneo has now completed 7 acquisitions since the firm was founded in 2011. The firm is backed by investment from private equity house BC Partners.
